Expansion on NWFSC South Walton Campus

On Monday, September 27th, 2021, Seaside School, Inc., Florida’s oldest continuously operated public charter school and recently ranked #3 combination school in the State of Florida, and Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) committed to expand their existing partnership to construct new facilities for high school and college students at the college’s South Walton campus.

Last week the Board of Trustees of Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC), the Board of Directors for The Seaside School Foundation, Inc., and the Board of Directors for The Seaside School, Inc. each unanimously approved a partnership agreement to expand the high school dual enrollment program and build new facilities for Seacoast Collegiate High School and NWFSC at the South Walton campus. On September 27th, 2021, these partners gathered and signed an agreement to solidify the relationship.

“The Seaside School, Inc. is grateful to Northwest Florida State College for their continued collaboration towards expansion, and for sharing our vision and objective of ensuring high school students receive an education of the highest quality in Walton County,” said Nick Vlahos, Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Seaside School, Inc. “Together we can support the next generation and ensure their pathway to becoming extraordinary leaders.” Read the full press release.

    English-as-a-Second Language & Adult Education NWFSC offers courses for adults in literacy, English-as- a-Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED preparation and job readiness skills. The course tuition is a low set fee of $30 per semester and includes all student materials and supplies. College readiness and career preparation services are free of charge to students enrolled in the Adult Education program. Registration dates and times are the same as for regular college semesters. Courses are offered at the college’s Niceville and Fort Walton Beach campuses, and at the NWFSC Robert L.F.     NWFSC Centers at Eglin & Hurlburt, Seven College Locations Northwest Florida State College operates full- time educational centers at Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base in the base education northwest florida state college south walton center is located in Niceville.     Veterans Affairs Office The NWFSC Veterans Affairs Office administers various veterans’ and dependents’ educational assistance benefit programs of the US Department of Veterans Affairs for students attending NWFSC. New students should visit the college’s VA web page for information on using their benefits. All students are strongly encouraged to return all required paperwork to the Veterans Affairs Office at the main campus in Niceville, located in Financial Aid at the Student Services Center.     Credit for Military Training CCAF to AS Degree

    Do you have your Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree or are you striving to achieve it? Academic accomplishments are great for EPR’s and for future resume enhancement! NWFSC offers a unique program where you may apply your CCAF credits toward a NWFSC Associate in Science (AS) degree in Industrial Management Technology. For information, contact the NWFSC Eglin AFB or Hurlburt Centers.

    • Transfer up to 45 credits from a CCAF degree to count toward a second college degree.

    • If you have completed college credit at other institutions, send official transcripts to NWFSC and proceed with courses toward the AS degree.

    • Students must complete 15 credit hours at NWFSC to meet degree requirements.

    • Students must complete other degree requirements such as 18 hours of General Education (English, Humanities, Math, Social Science, Speech, Natural Science) and GEB 1214 Business and Supervision Technology.

    Innovative & eCampus

    Among the bachelor’s degree programs offered at NWFSC are two Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees; Project Management and Management & Supervision. These innovative baccalaureate programs offer tracks of specialization so you may tailor a degree to meet individual career goals or job requirements. The Management & Supervision degree includes areas of emphasis in Supervision, Public Service Management, Healthcare Management and Human Resources Management. The Project Management degree includes areas of emphasis in Acquisitions, Project Management, Quality Improvement, and Technology Management.     Transfer Credit for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Programs NWFSC has an agreement with the 7th Special Forces, 18 Delta Tactical Medic group to accept some of the Army training into the NWFSC Paramedic program for credit toward earning the Paramedic certificate and the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Associate in Science degree.
